Overview
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. The game is scheduled for release on October 16, 2025. The game will be available on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. It serves as the second installment in the Pokémon Legends series, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and revisits the Kalos region, specifically focusing on an urban redevelopment project in Lumiose City.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A introduces several new Mega Evolutions tied to the Kalos region’s lore and expands further with the Mega Dimension DLC. In the main game, Mega forms for Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja reflect enhanced combat styles and elemental mastery, while Pokémon like Malamar and Hawlucha gain strategic boosts. The DLC adds two exclusive Mega Raichu forms—Mega Raichu X and Y—each with distinct abilities and visual designs, marking Raichu as the third Pokémon to receive dual Mega Evolutions. These new forms are unlocked through story progression, ranked battles, and exploration, offering expanded tactical options and deeper customization for players. The DLC is titled Mega Dimension and will go on sale in 2026.
