Overview
Pokémon Pokopia is a life simulation game developed by Koei Tecmo and published by The Pokémon Company, scheduled for release in Spring 2026 on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is a Generation IX spin-off and focuses on crafting, building, and relaxing gameplay rather than traditional battles. Players take control of Ditto, who has transformed into a human-like form to explore a peaceful island and build a cozy environment for Pokémon companions.
The core gameplay revolves around collecting materials, constructing furniture and structures, and customizing the landscape using moves learned from befriended Pokémon. For example, Bulbasaur’s Leafage can be used to grow grass, while Squirtle’s Water Gun helps water plants. These moves are integrated into the crafting system, allowing players to shape their surroundings in functional and aesthetic ways. The game also features a real-time day-night cycle and dynamic weather conditions that affect the environment and available interactions.
Pokopia supports 1–4 players, though no online connectivity has been confirmed. The game emphasizes slow-paced, creative play and includes gardening, decorating, and social elements. After completing daily tasks, players can relax in their personalized space or invite Pokémon and friends to visit. The visual style is soft and colorful, designed to evoke a calm atmosphere, and the soundtrack complements the tranquil setting.
Announced during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, Pokémon Pokopia will be available in multiple languages including English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Preorders for the digital version begin November 12, 2025, via the Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store.
