The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the HD remake of the 2007 game released for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii.  The new game was developed by Nintendo and Tantalus Media.  The game was published by Nintendo.  The game was released on March 4, 2016 in North America and Europe.  It was released on March 10, 2016 in Japan.

The game provided higher graphical capabilities then was presented on the GameCube or the Wii.  Graphics included a cleaner and a high-definition look.  The game has a much less blurred look on some of the various textures.

The game used the world orientation of the GameCube version in normal mode.  Unlike the other versions, Hero Mode is available from the start of the game.

The game is compatible with all Legend of Zelda amiibo.  The game came packaged with the Wolf Link amiibo. The Wolf Link amiibo unlocked a new optional dungeon called the Cave of Shadows. It feature 40 floors that Wolf Link must clear.  Other amiibo features replenishing arrows (Link or Toon Link) or taking 2x the damage when the Ganondorf amiibo is scanned.  Each amiibo can only be used once a day.

A Limited Edition Soundtrack CD was also bundled with the game and amiibo.  The CD was only available with GameStop preorders.  The CD was more accessible in European and Japanese retailers.

A new item in the game called the “Ghost Lantern” has been added. This mysterious item will glow when in the same area as a Poe (a kind of ghost), making the Poe soul-retrieving quest much easier to complete.

The game received mostly positive reviews.  Some critic zed the addition of the Cave of Shadows dungeon. As of May 2016, the game has sold nearly 800,000 copies.
