Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is the first of Nintendo's cross-platform titles.  This game marks the first title in the series to be released on a home console.  The game was released during March 2015 worldwide.  Players spend just $19.99 for the game on both on a Nintendo 3DS/Nintendo 2DS and on the Wii U.  In Europe, a boxed version of the download code can be purchased at retailers.

The Wii U version required 1 GB of memory for installation while the Nintendo 3DS version requires 3200 blocks.  Players can share their stages through Miiverse.  Levels can be shared with between the two console versions.  Players can give stars as "tips" for sharing their stages on Miiverse.  Parts and new minis can be unlocked in the Workshop.  Players can make up to 50 custom levels in the Workshop.  The WII U version features stamps like in other Wii U games that can be used and posted on Miiverse.  There are 72 stamps in total.

Pauline is once again the victim of Donkey Kong as he had kidnapped her once again.  Mario gives chase with his Mini Mario toys to rescue Pauline.   It turned out it was just a surprise party for Mario featuring all his friends.  The game features 88 stages.
