Fire Emblem Warriors was released in Japan on September 28, 2017 and across the rest of the world on October 20, 2017.  The game was developed by Omega Force and Team Ninja and published by Nintendo and Koei Tecmo.

     The game was released for the Nintendo Switch and the New Nintendo 3DS/2DS systems.  The game was only playable in 2D on those systems.

     The game features similar gameplay as Hyrule Warriors and Dynasty Warriors.  It features several characters found throughout the Fire Emblem series of games.

       The Nintendo Switch version received better reviews than that of the New Nintendo 3DS/2DS version.  This was due to lower processor speed of the 3DS/2DS systems which resulted in lower graphics and gameplay speed.     In April 2018, Koei Temco announced that the Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS versions had sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
