The Legend of Zelda:
Link's Awakening was a remake of the 1993 Game Boy classic. The game was
developed by Grezzo and published by Nintendo. It was released September
20, 2019.
The game is presented in a retro-modern style of art.
It retained the top-down perspetive of the original game. It also
retained elements of the 1998's Link's Awakening DX.
The story
remains the same as the original. The story takes place on Koholint
Island, where Link has been stranded after his ship is caught up in a
storm. Link is rescued by a girl named Marin, he embarks on a quest to
collect the eight instruments of the Sirens and awaken Koholint's
legendary Wind Fish in order to leave the island.
Nintendo
released an amiibo of Link alongside the game. The game is compatible
with other amiibo in the Legend of Zelda series. amiibo will randomally
unlock one of five special chambers in the game. These chamers cannot
otherwise be obtained in game.
The game received favorable
reviews. The game was prasied for its visuals. As of March 2021, the
game has sold over 5.5 million copies.
