Octopath Traveler was developed by Square Enix and Acquire and published by Nintendo in Europe and North America and by Square Enix in Japan.  It was released on July 13, 2018.

     Octopath Traveler is a RPG.  The game puts players into one of eight roles.  Each character has a different path.  The game features turn-based battles.  Players can attack using different kinds of weapons or elemental attacks, or use abilities and items.

       The game received mostly favorable reviews.  The game quickly sold out in Japan was unavailable for a few weeks after release.  The game has sold over 1,300,000 copies as of January 2019.
